During his visit to Brazzaville, Mr Franck RIESTER, Minister Delegate for Foreign Trade and Economic Attractiveness, attached to the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, launched the “Choose Africa Resilience” guarantee granted by AFD Group to Société Générale-Congo to support the financing of Congolese MSMEs affected by the economic crisis.

This Choose Africa Resilience guarantee will cover the granting of loans to Congolese MSMEs for an amount of 1.6 billion FCFA (~€2.5M).This initiative is in line with the commitment made in Ouagadougou in 2017, by the President of the French Republic, Emmanuel MACRON, in order to support entrepreneurship and innovation in Africa. Launched in November 2020 in response to the crisis, this €1 billion Resilience component brings to €3.5 billion the Choose Africa initiative to support start-ups, VSEs and SMEs in Africa.

The signing ceremony took place in the presence of the Minister of State, Minister of Trade, Supply and Consumption, Mr. Alphonse Claude NSILOU as well as the Minister of SMEs, Ms. Yvonne Adelaïde MOUNGANY.

Once again, this demonstration of solidarity demonstrates France’s long-term commitment to supporting the Republic of Congo’s march towards development and the diversification of its economy.
